Hello --

Brewed an American Strong Ale on 3/19/16 -- after checking the gravity yesterday and saw that it achieved its FG, I went ahead and dry hopped (first time dry hopping).

The recipe calls for dry hopping for 5 days.

Is it OK to open the fermenter back up (after 5 days) and remove hops (in muslin bag)?
Or should I leave hops in fermenter and then "cold crash" for a couple days and bottle?

Or other suggestions?

Thanks for any advice.

I would just leave them in there cold crash and bottle. However, IMO the use of a muslin bag in carboy might not be worth the trouble. I would just dry hop right into your carboy. That's just me good luck.

Same as above. ^^^^^^

I just toss the hops right into the fermenter, then cold crash after a couple days.

If you keg, just hang the bag inside.

So you already dry-hopped with a bag. NBD, folks do that all the time.

I'd cold-crash and rack around the hop bag, as extricating it will be a pita regardless, but doing it after the beer has been safely racked off will be a slightly lesser pita...

Cheers!
