I am looking to brew a nice easy drinking extract graff cider with a very clean roasty/malty body to it. Hoping for dark brown or black in color. I am planning to cold steep all of my grains to cut down on astringency. How does this recipe sound to everyone? My biggest concern is whether to use apple juice again or apple cider.
5 gallon batch/1 gallon boil
- 4 gallons apple juice or cider?
- 1 gallon water
- 1 lb. Dark DME
- 1 lb. Light DME
- .5 lb. Crystal 60
- 2 oz flaked wheat for head
- 4 oz special b
- 4 oz caramunich
1 packet of Safale 05
Thank you Brandon O for the wonderful graff ideas!
