Has anyone built a kegerator using the Danby Designer DAR044A1BDD? Its the newer model of the Danby DAR440BL.

Unless you have everything to turn the fridge into a kegerator, then the money spent is worth it on the full blown already setup unit. This way the warranty stays intact.

If you can find a fully working older commercial style: True, Beverage Air, Superior, U-line, or other commercial brand with forced air cooling, that would be a better buy overall.

If you keep your beer glasses in the kegerator, you **should not** have one with a plate style evaporator. If you open and close the door it will take too long to recover. With forced air (evaporator fan) style the inside will recover very fast. Just some things to think about.

I ended up selling a pretty stainless haier kegerator and keeping an ugly beat up old particle board wood grain top u-line because of the commerical style refrigeration system. It has the forced air evaporator and much better controls. Just ugly.
