5 Gallon Recipe

1.67 lbs Ginger

2 cups lime juice

1 tsp cayenne pepper

5 lbs cane sugar

Lalvin D47 yeast

Yeast Nutrient

Carbonation drops

1) Bring to a boil, add blended ginger and lime juice. 20 minutes.

2) Pull off heat, stir in sugar and cayenne pepper.

3) Cool to pitching temperature. Add yeast and yeast nutrient.

4) Ferment 100%. Carbonate with mangrove jacks carb drops.

I think you’d want some nutrients, or at least some raisins, to keep the yeast from getting stressed.

OMG. I would probably test out a small 1-gallon batch before committing to 5.

Ideally this is what I'd do, but all the ingredients were fairly cheap (besides the yeast...5$). 20$ total.

Why such a big OMG? See something I don't see? :/

It's a fairly basic ginger beer recipe. Not a beer brewed with ginger. It tastes great 5 days into fermentation.
How did this come out in the end? I'm new to brewing and have a request from my family to make ginger beer. What was your abv?
