Crankandstein funnel hopper mounting question

I have a crankandstein 2 roller mill. I’m looking to fabricate a mounting plate for my metal funnel, similar to the plate they sell on their site. From others pics I’ve seen this method incorporates a metal hose clamp around the base of the funnel. I’d have to cut a few inches off the spout at the bottom. Could anybody tell me how this fastens the funnel to the plate? Is it just used to compress the funnel to insert it into the place? Just cannot figure out what that hose clamp is for... Thanks!

Heya, I have their 2D mill with base board and hopper. I'm not sure I understand your question. It sounds like you have a hopper (a DIY one?) but no way to mount it? If you want a photo of any part of my mill, let me know.
