Does anybody know what this thing is or does? I found it in my dads basement, he knows it came off a soda fountain but cant remember exactly what its purpose was. Is it something I can hook up to my kegerator?

Looks like a carbonation unit... you run chilled water in and you get soda water out.

Strumke, I live in Montgomery county...this unit is currently at my parents in NY but if you're interested in buying it I'll bring it back with me in a couple weeks.
