Hey guys,
So I was looking at Yooper's recipe for grape juice wine and wanted to do something similar using 1 gallon of pure concord grape juice from Newman's Own.
I am pretty green when it comes to winemaking but I've now made two apple wines that came out pretty good and I really enjoy not having to add water since I have enough juice at hand for an all concord grape wine.
Concord Grape Wine
1 Gallon of 100% concord grape juice
Sugar (not sure how much you guys recommend I use to hit 13-14%?) ***
Montrachet Wine Yeast from Red Star
1 tsp pectic enzyme
1 tsp yeast nutrient
Should I use anything else? I don't have oak chips (yet) but I have citric acid and black tea (I've read about CJJ Berry using them as subs for tannin powder, which I did with my apple wines).
I want to ensure the wine ends up at 13% ABV or so. I was thinking of starting with a pound of sugar and feeding small amounts till the hydrometer gave me that potential ABV reading of 13-14.
Thanks for the help!
