What are your favorite homebrew competitions?
What is important to you in deciding which competitions to enter?
I enjoy the Colorado state fair:
Solid competition (15+ entries per category), great judges who give constructive feedback, beautiful award medals. Also Foam Fest is a great event that goes on at the fair where you can sample brews from all over the country.
I try and have brews for all my local competitions (so I don't have to pay for shipping), and I'm still entering competitions all over regardless of size or history. I think next year I'll have a better idea of ones I'll enter and ones I'll avoid. I think the quality of the judges comments are what's most important to me. I also enjoy the bling...gives my brewery (garage) character.
