Combining split batch back together?

So due to carboy headspace concerns I split a 6 gallon batch in half into to 5 gallon carboys to ferment. Now my question is can I combine the beer back together after fermentation for kegging/bottling or is it best to just leave separate?

Yes, you can combine.

If you are bottling and use a bottling bucket, you can combine them at that point. If you are kegging, I would just transfer one to the keg then the other and not combine them beforehand. I have done that lately as my fermentation chamber does not fit my large carboy so I split a 5 gal batch across two 3 gal fermenters.
