I plan on making my take on Potosi Brewings - Border War. its a bourbon barrel coffee stout.

I've got all the ingredients I plan on using, except my coffee. 2 things I'm not sure of...
1. How Much coffee to use
2. Ground or bean coffee

I've got an idea of the type I want to use, but am open to suggestions.

Thanks

Whole bean will work fine if added to the primary or secondary. 1 oz per gallon will give a nice moderate coffee flavor. More or less depending on your personal preference.

I just made a coffee stout using cold brew. For a 5 gallon batch I used a French press with 6oz coarse ground coffee in 20oz water for 16 hours. Filtered through muslin and added at packaging worked perfect. Very happy with the flavor and aroma.
