Trying to decide the best way to add toasted coconut in my secondary. It's 24 oz unsweeted toasted. Considering either dumping them straight in or trying to use multiple bags weighted down. Any thoughts?

I did it once by dumping them straight in and I decided the next time I did it I'd put them in a bag and weight them down. They were kind of everywhere...a lot floating, some suspended and some sunk to the bottom. I think the bag would just make it more manageable.

I did a coconut porter last fall and used coconut in both the boil and secondary. I put the coconut in a hop bag, then put some sanitized, stainless steel washers and fittings into the hop bag to weigh it down.
