Hi all,

I'm in the middle of making my first batch of cider and I'm not sure when I should first check the gravity. It started at 1.056 and I used cuvée yeast.

How long should I let this sit before checking the gravity again?

If you have an air lock, when the bubbles have slowed or have stopped is when I start checking.
A lot depends on what is in your cider, how much sugars, raisins etc... it can take quite a while to fully ferment.
I tend to take as few readings as possible.

Have Fun!

if you're going for a dry cider, then start checking it when you have zero indicators that fermentation is continuing.
