Looking to Expand my smaller chest freezer into a larger fermentation chamber. What i have atm is a smaller chest freezer and i have the converter to control the temp. what im looking to do is chop off the side and expand it to make it longer. only thing stopping me is I don't know the insides of a chest freezer and where the cooling componets are located and how they work. wondering if anyone has done this and the best way to go about it.

From what I've been reading. The guts are in the side walls of the top loading chest freezers. What about using the chest freezer as your keezer and picking up a crag list cheapo dorm fridge. I got mine for $20. My ferm chamber holds 6x6 gall carboys.
