Cheapest hop blocker/ mesh strainer ever?

Should work fine as long as your dip-tube exerts some pressure on it to keep it snug against the bottom of your pot. I've seen a few people using kitchen strainers with the handles cut off.
 
Thought the same thing. It does indeed strain the hops from your wort... It does indeed clog crazy fast with any serious amount of hops. I would only use it again if I had 2 oz or less I think. Was a PITA so I'm looking for a better solution that's not crazy $$$
 
I use a domed false bottom in my boil kettle. It keeps out the vast majority of hops (even pellet hops) without clogging.
