Looking at trying one of these products like Prime Dose or the inexpensive fizz drops at NB. My question is, does it somehow magically, properly carb for all beer styles or is it just a general carbonation good for most american ales? I've brewed a batch of special bitter which has a moderate level of carbonation. Does it tone down to meet the style or will I have a beer that's over-carbonated for a special bitter?

Experienced input?

Thx.

I use Prime Dose when my bottle conditioning/carb fails. Or when I want to only carb a few bottles to test a batch.

2 capsules in a 12oz bottle is perfect for the 2.3 2.5 range which is most of what I make. I used 3 for my Hard cider. They have done a really good job of taking out the guess work.

This is off the website...
Recommended Dosage:
12 oz. bottles: 2 capsules; use 3 in styles requiring high carbonation.
22 oz. bottles: 4 capsules; use 6 in styles requiring higher carbonation.

I have not tried any other products.

Ah. I should've looked at their site a bit more. This might work for me. Looking for about 2-2.2 carbs in 22oz. Bottles so 3 capsules might do the trick. Thanks for pointing out their documentation.
