When adding the yeast into the fermenting bin. Can the water be too hot? If so what will happen?
It says on the instructions 18 to 22
But is was a hot summer's day & it wouldn't drop below 34.

For most yeast strains, 34C (93F) is way too warm. The yeast themselves will probably love that temperature and ferment the wort in very short order, but most yeast strains will produce off flavors, like fusel alcohols and elevated esters) at that kind of temperature.
