Thanks for the add! I have absolutely no idea what I’m doing and I’m already hooked lol. I’ve been stalking threads lately on what system I should start with. I think I have all the basics to make a drinkable beverage and I look forward to a long relationship with this hobby.

Welcome to the group Ogre. I suspect you’ll be making tasty brews soon and become part of the obsession! As bracconiere wrote, don’t let it get overly complicated. Complicated may (will) frustrate you early on. Develop a sound routine, master the basics, and utilize the resources here. There’s always someone that has experience needed to help out.

If you have been watching a lot of videos and reading a lot of forums, a book (like How to Brew) can be a good way to confirm that you are aware of all the basics. You don't have to read it "word for word": skim read, then dive deep on things that "catch your eye".

my humor is questionable, at best....but seriously, cider is easier to make, but i need the extra folate from beer!

I have yet to find your humor questionable, but maybe it’s too similar to mine! I’ve always told my wife it’s part of my sickness….
