Beersmith does a nice job of calculating calories, but I'm also interested in "macro" breakdown for carbs and protein so I can put it in MyFitnessPal.

Is there a reasonable way to come up with carbs and protein numbers?

Not that I really know of. The protein in beer is somewhat negligible (1-2 grams per 12oz), so I always just log beer as all carbs. To make it easier, I just log a generic beer in Myfitnesspal that has the same ABV as what I drink. It's close enough for me.

7 calories per gram of alcohol, and 4 calories per gram of carbohydrate.

Volume in ml (ounces x 29.5735) * ABV = ml of Alcohol
ml Alcohol * 0.789 = grams of alcohol
Grams of alcohol * 7 = alcohol calories
Total calories less alcohol calories = carbohydrate calories (ignoring protein as it is pretty negligible)
Carbohydrate calories / 4 = grams carbohydrate

There's probably a better way to calculate it, but that seems to work.

But I think every beer I have logged on MFP for the last 900+ days is "Generic Wheat Beer".
