So I happen to have Golden-Gate style pony keg. It has two valves (one on top, on side bottom) and a bung on the side in the middle. The valve stems are permanent and cannot be removed; filling is done through the bung.
I kegged a wee-heavy today, inserted a new wooden bung, and pressurized the keg. The bung stayed in fine, but it's leaking gas (and beer) through the grain of the wood. What gives? I mean, it had a wooden bung on it when I got it...is there some sort of sealing I should be doing?
I covered the top with epoxy..waiting for that to dry.
