We're going to give this a shot tomorrow. I was originally going to pitch Wyeast 1098 but LHBS didn't have it so settle for US-04. Well I visited the other LHBS and he strongly suggested pitching Wyeast 1968 so I bought a smack pack.

9 lbs Pale Ale Malt (2 row) UK
1 lb Caramel/Crystal Malt - 40L
6 oz Chocolate Malt
1 lb Dark Brown Sugar (Add at boiling)
1.5 oz Williamette Hops (4.8% AAU) 60 min
.5 oz Williamette Hops (4.8% AAU) 5 min
Wyeast #1968 London ESB Ale

What do you all think?

I like it, although I'm not a fan of brown sugar in most beers. I dislike the fermented "molasses" taste of it. But otherwise, I think it looks great!

The deed is done!! Just finished up from brewing and all went well. I hit 1.053 gravity on this one when the recipe called for 1.054 so I'm starting to get dialed in now. This was my fourth AG brew.

Tomorrow is my Kolsch. The 1L starter of WLP029 was on the stir plate for 24hrs or so and is in the fridge for overnight. I hope it goes as well as today's batch.
