I have ordered 8 gallon buckets for fermenting in the past from BMW, but I don't see them anymore. Are they gone for good?
Well Dudes and NEIGHSAYERS, I have not had the experiences that have been so rampantly reported in this thread. BMW is just another web supplier. No doubt Ed is busting his arse to get the orders out and guessing at what to update his stock with. I say WTH, give the guy a break. Is that unreasonable? Try some planning ahead, after all, you are doing an internet order that requires shipping etc, right? If you are in a hurry just get the stuff from your LHBS. If you like some other internet supplier better, then go there and leave it be. BWH is just another AMERICAN business trying to serve the best they can. I have had NO REASON to bad mouth BWH for any of my orders, past or present... Cheers
do the fermentation buckets have volume marks? do you plan to get ale pails within the next week or 2?
In each case, what bugged me was that I didn't even find out until a week later that the orders were going to be late. If I had gotten an email that day, it would have been no problem. . . I hope they figure out their logistics

If the BrewBuilder is the thing that's holding up better software, I say scrap it.

I ordered on Nov 4th and two items were on backorder. They shipped the rest, but the yeast was wrong. I e-mailed and they said they would ship the right one with the other items. It still says pending. Thats almost a month ago.
I really wanted to find the last time you said this put quote them both with the statement. " look who else likes to tell the same story" decided to still kinda do it.
As usual Pappers is right. Any business has loyalists and critics, so it's easy for a *****-fest to take place making it necessary for mods to step in, and I hate it when that happens. Better for us to self moderate.Pappers_ said:Hoping that repetition will work, would prefer that to having to go through and edit the thread.
Once more for good measure Lets avoid back-and-forth arguments about other members reviews. Your review is the best response. Even the best businesses will have customers who complain.
It was just banter man, no hard feelings. I've bitched about plenty of things myself. I haven't personally had as exaggerated of a bad experience as you, more often just ordering something, having something not be in stock, and being faced with the choice to 1.cancel my order, 2.keep the order based on the things that BMW actually does excellent with, namely price and grain crush and order the missing items elsewhere, or 3. Do without. I hate do without.NorCalBrewin said:More of an update, just though I'd let everyone know how poor of service I received from them. But I'll stop "Bitching".
You should email them, any time my order is taking awhile that's what I do. They don't seem to have the best order management system in place, but if you talk to them things usually start happening fairly quickly.
I am usually disappointed by how long things take to ship, but I understand this is a busy season, and every time I order I manage to pick something that's out of stock. I just need to start planning my brews a couple weeks in advance.
My order from Sunday is still pending. I think I'm just going to cancel it and drive down to my LHBS tomorrow. 4+ business days to ship an order is too long IMO. Nothing against BMW but I'll probably take a break from them for a while until they get it together.
