I have been primarily brewing 5 gallon batches so far and I was considering brewing smaller batches (2.5-3 gallon), so I can try more recipes. Thus far, I have done mostly extract and some partial mash, but want to start all-grain soon. Is it as easy as just cutting the ingredients for a 5 gallon recipe in half (for 2.5 gallon batches)? If I wanted to do 3 gallon batches, should I use a calculator and if so, do you have a recommendation what might work best for my needs?

I use BrewPal for the iPhone/iPad. Super easy and not a bad app for a buck. iBrewmaster is a little pricier, but much more in depth. Either one will help alot with creating recipes of any size.

Beersmith is a great program for windows, and I believe promash is pretty similar to it
