Another dip tube option is a 3/4 inch (or whatever size your spigot threads are) threaded to smooth PVC elbow from Home Depot. They are about 60 cents and can screw right on the back of the spigot to hold the O ring in place (instead of using the plastic nut). The elbow sits less than a millimeter off the bottom of the bucket.
