Boil time

When a recipe says to boil for 30 min then add .....bla bla bla, does the 30 min include getting up to the boil or is it 30 min once boiling? Takes about 10 min to get to boil it seems.

I want until after the first hot break and start timing my boil

but you could start as soon as it starts to boil

Thanks! I just read up on hot break too! Thanks for all. It went to hot break pretty quickly after boil (hop pellets helped). Im boiling now, so I'll reset the clock for any time before the boil. Thanks!
FL brewing at 74 degrees today.
