I just noticed I have a bunch of these in my back alley. Does anyone know what they are? I'm in edmonton alberta

Looks like red currant (Ribes rubrum) to me.

The berries make very tasty jam, cobbler, scones, etc...
I'll bet you can make a tasty wine from them too.
FYI: Only the berries are edible, the rest of the plant is toxic.

Make sure you only pick the ones growing higher than the leg lift level of the largest dog in your area. Just a good rule of thumb to live by.

To make wine from them you will need a LOT of them......

I was thinking the same thing. These look like wild gooseberries that we find here in Wisco.
