Beet wine- My first taste

18 month old beet wine. Still not sure if I like it yet...

It is a little earthy, and a little hot to tell the truth even after 18 months. I like the color, residual sweetness and brightness of it... but there is another aftertaste I am not adoring as yet.

My mother-in-law, whom you can kind of see if you look through the glass, said it reminded her more of a flavored vodka than a wine. She is incorrect, of course, but this speaks to how hot it currently is.

Try dry-okraing it. Should help mellow things out.
