Beersmth vs BeerAlchemy

The big thirty dollar question! which and why.

Beersmith is frequently <$20 for the desktop
Beersmith Mobile is <$10 for either Droid or iOS

There's no BeerAlchemy for Windows or Droid

I don't live in a walled garden so it's a no-brainer for me.

Smith will run over multiple platforms, I don't have a Mac

Smith does everything I need/want it to do and has a HUGE database available, I don't know what Alchemy has available

Smith for me!

You could also go free with BrewTarget. The little bit I've used it I've found it to correspond very well with other brewing software.

I'm a Mac guy so it Alchemy for me. Honestly, I have both and prefer alchemy over beersmith. I just find it more user friendly and less complicated. I might be biased though bc I used it for about 2 years before trying beersmith...

I use beersmith just because its more universally supported (ie bigger user base) then some of the others and it does everything I need it to do and more.
