I've been searching but have had no luck finding an answer. Can someone tell me how many inches are below the basket? I plan on using the basket in my BIAB setup and want to make sure I can fit an element like Kal's Electric Brewery does it.

Kals and ebrewsupplys uses 2 gang boxes. From what I know, you have to use a single gang box with the element for these pots to place the element low enough to clear the basket. I don't have the exact measurement, but from others posting on this issue, this is how I understand it has to work for this setup if you are looking at eBIAB with this kettle.

My 1160 element sits about 2 3/4 inches off the bottom with the basket installed there is about 1/4 inch of clearance between element and basket....So I'd say 3 inches.

Update: Went downstairs to measure it sits exactly 3 1/8 inches off the bottom.
