I haven't brewed since the begiining of the summer and had somewhite labs california ale yeast in the fridge, past due by a few months.Figured it would be fine and said Eff the starter this time. When i opened it it foamed out and smeeled skunky.Wondering if i should wait and see if it takes off or add some dry yeast i have.Opinions?

It should be fine, but you should definitely have made a starter with it. Depending on how old it is, your viability may be in the 10-20% range! But it'll make beer.

Yeah, make a starter. I've used yeast that was a year old after making a starter (or 3) with good results.
