Hello,

I know there have been several posts specifically about witbier. I want an accurate recipe for the avery one. Avery posts their recipes scaled down from their bulk produced ones, but their hops bill seems low, as noted here where someone punched in the recipe to brewers friend. Their hops bill calculates ibu's at 5.24 where it should be 22.

I'm just looking for an accurate recipe for this specific one. I really like this one. I'm a fan of hoegaarden, and I will drink blue moon belgian white, but I'm a much bigger fan of Avery's take on this one so I would like a distinct recipe different than a blue moon witbier clone.

Their are others who attempt to make up the difference, but I am newer to beer brewing and need some more experienced guidance on a recipe for this one. Here's some other attempts at correcting avery's miscalculation:

http://brewgr.com/recipe/2097/avery-white-rascal-clone-witbier-recipe
http://brewgr.com/recipe/10651/clone-of-avery-white-rascal-clone-witbier-recipe

Their's three, but they use exclusively one hop strain, not all the ones listed by avery. Same question on the spice/orange peel. How does the grain bill look to you guys?

My skepticism is also rooted in several conversations elsewhere. Another link to one is listed here.

Thankyou in advance

Imo the 30 minute hop addition should be .7 oz of Bravo not .07 oz.
Actually I take that back, imo the recipe on Avery's website looks correct. I put the Avery White Rascal hop schedule from their web page into https://www.brewersfriend.com/ibu-calculator/ and came up with ~27 IBUs which seems reasonable. The Avery web page for White Rascal doesn't show an IBU number but other websites have speculated it is around 22 which my tastings would corroborate.
