This is a general question, not one about a specific project. Most of the microcontroller boards ( Arduino, nodemcu, esp32 etc ... ) have a reset button. After a power failure the reset button must be manually pressed in order to restart the sketch.
Question: is there any way ( connect an external electronic circuit to the reset pin for example ) to automatically restart the sketch after a power failure ?

fwiw, I have roughly 10 Arduinos of various models doing various tasks and they all launch their respective on-board sketches when power is applied. It's what they do...

Cheers!

I might sound like an idiot, but then why is there a reset pushbutton on the arduino board if the sketch restarts automatically after a power failure ?

It's so you can manually reset the board during development and testing of your sketch. A quick and easy alternative to having to disconnect/reconnect power.
