Are these hops or have I been taken?

First time growing hops. I bought “magnum hops” seeds online and this is what has grown. I assume these aren’t hops? Can anyone tell me if they are or if I have been taken? Or what they are? I know, I should have started with rhizomes… Thanks in advance.

I'm gonna say likely not to definitely not hops. Hop leaves, in my experience, have a sawtooth edge and a shape that resembles a maple to marijuana leaf. Nothing pictured looks like that.

I would let it grow though. You may get a salad after everything is ready to harvest.

The only flowers on hop plants are the hop cones themselves. And the leaves are striated with saw tooth edges. I don't see anything in your pictures that look like hop plants.

Thanks guys. I thought it was salad of some sort but couldn’t pin point it. Collard greens it is. I bought them on eBay. I should have known better. The money for the seeds isn’t a big deal but the time and effort… Lesson learned. Thanks again.

I like to hunt down and identify plants. 4 pedals and 6 stamens looks like you have mustard plants or Yellow Rocketcress IMHO

Hops are generally sold as root cuttings or rhizomes. Not usually seeds.

@bwible is correct, hops reproduce by rhizomes much like bananas. They don't have seeds. Hopefully your plants will provide a good mess of greens but I definitely wouldn't want them in a beer.

Hops do have seeds.

Indeed but they are far too much trouble, inconsistent and take an extra year of growth to even define if they are male or female. I would never rely on propagating from seed unless it was a multi year experiment.

Yeah, it was supposed to be a multi-year experiment from seeds. I know rhizomes work best. I just thought I would start from the beginning to see if I could make it happen. Not this year. Buyer beware.

Seeds won't grow true to type, but could be a fun experiment if you like that kind of thing.
I agree that those are not hops.

with the seeds have little fun and make very interesting discoveries. but it takes a lot of time, and out of 1,500 seeds, there will only be a dozen promising
