I'm newly turned on to Arbor Brewing Company's Buzzsaw IPA. Below is a description, followed by my thoughts on replicating a recipe. I'd love some input here. Let me know your thoughts....if you have tasted the real thing. P&T.
Arbor Brewing Company's description:
ABV 7.1
IBU 50
OG: 1.066
Body: medium
Description from brewery...
A big, bold hop-forward west coast style IPA. The malt character is subdued to showcase a blend of Simcoe, Amarillo, and Centennial Hops creating a lingering dry finish with notes of pine, grapefruit, and apricot.
...since Amarillo hops are expensive and rare, I elected to swap it out for Cascade, which I think tastes and smells better anyway.
Grains
11 lb 2 row
1 lb Caramel 40L
1 lb Munich
8 oz Victory
8 oz Caramel 120
3 oz Pale Chocolate 200L
Hops
.90 oz simcoe at 60 min
1 oz cascade 10 min
1 oz centennial 10 min
1 oz cascade 0 min
1 oz centennial 0 min
Dryhop...
.25 simcoe
.25 centennial
.50 cascade
Mash temp 152
Yeast US 05 or WLP 001
Cheers!
