Has anyone tried one or more of the recipes at www.brewingwithbriess.com? I'm contemplating doing their Dark Chocolate Porter recipe for my next batch. It calls for 7 lbs of their Golden Light LME. Seems like most places sell it in 6 lbs for LME or odd sizes for DME. I'm guessing I could use 6 lbs LME and add 0.8 lbs of DME to get essentially 7 lbs?

You could substitute for LME or a combo of LME/DME if you wanted. To do what you want you'd need 6lbs of LME and 2.2lbs of DME to reach the proper gravity.

This chart may help...

you can order a variety of sizes of LME through austinhomebrew or through brewmasters warehouse. austin even allows you to order half pound increments.
