I've got a group getting together this Friday and we're brewing two brews for a competition with another local homebrew club utilizing the new HBC436 hop. So I've put together a Rye Pale Ale recipe similar to Terrapin's Rye Pale Ale. I had originally planned on using Wyeast's American Ale II. However, I have some of Wyeast's Denny's Fav 50 yeast on hand in my fridge that I can throw into a starter as well. I've used both yeasts in the past and I think I'm leaning towards American Ale II but want to know what ya'll think I should use.

For some reason Denny's Favorite works really well with a Rye Plae Ale. I make one that I like and have used both and the Denny's Favorite just seems like it is perfect for a rye pale ale.

i use 1272 a lot but always go to the 1450 for Rye brews.
