Just Pitched an IIPA onto the yeast cake of a mild brewed about 1.5 weeks ago. Thames Valley II. Finished up with the second running Pale ale, and when I got around to putting the Pale in the fermenting closet, 35 min.later, airlock is going mad with about 2 inches of Krausen. I go back to check on it, (an hour and a half later) and it is blowing off like a freakin volcano
I pitch onto cakes all the time, but have never had one take off like this! Got to love it!
BTW, i rigged a blowoff tube after the first 30 minutes. Good thing
