Afraid to open the pail, dry airlock...

Sin of all sins, I let myself get too busy with life and forgot all about a batch of IPA sitting in a pail in the basement. Meant to bottle it at least a dozen times. After five weeks, I noticed that the vodka in the three-piece airlock was below the level of the little pipe inside! I filled it back up, but haven't noticed any outgassing happening, though the floater is up off the pipe a bit now after two days.

I'm afraid to pop it open Saturday. Coupled with a fairly high temp through the resting phase (68-70F) for six weeks now, this could be the killer.

Any worries, or do you think there was enough pressure to keep things at a "good enough" level?

still should be ok. there should be enough residual co2 in there to keep out the oxygen

It It should be just fine, but just in case you should probably bottle it up and ship it to me for proper disposal.
