I am making a 7% short mead/melomel. I used 6.25 lbs of orange blossom honey with Lalvin D47. This means that the yeast won't be shutting down due to alcohol limits.

I want to add about 11 lbs of peaches to it. I am afraid that it will simply ferment the peach flavor out. I don't really like doing chemical additions to my meads. Will dropping the temp to say 32 or so kill enough yeast to allow me to add the peach without worrying about continued fermentation? or are chemical additions the only option here?

Thanks!

Curious what you did as well. I would have probably used chemical means... I don't thiiiiink dropping to 32 would have killed it off enough to not worry about future fermentation.
