So I ground up some carafa in my blender for a late (last 10 mins) to my mash. The goal is to get the color without as much roasty flavor.

Should I stir the carafa in when I add it, or just pour it on top?

If you just pour it on top you won't get much from it, but if you stir it in you'll lose some temp. I'm unfamiliar with the CDA/BIPA/SS is better/Picard > Kirk style, but it seems like if you just care about the color there would be a better way, or something. I dunno, the whole idea seems sort of silly. Get a bottle of food coloring, boom.

(I remember there being something about cold mashing? Maybe mash it separately?)
