I have to admit I was a little bit intimidated with the thought of making a starter.
Having done it, OMG!
It's the only way to go, to get an adequate yeast count for each brew, not to mention I saved $11.23

Yeah, I was VERY intimidated by the thought of a starter when I did my first one. Now I do it for every brew and won't brew if I didn't get around to making the starter.

I'd recommend going 5L flask. If you have a 2L and a 5L, you're set and won't need another size, I don't think....

The stir plate I bought is the Maelstrom. I love it, but it is pricey.
