I know the debate over aluminum has been beaten to death, but I would prefer a SS pot, and the price isn't all that great. Sure you get a thermo, and a sight glass, but $220 seems a little pricey.

This kettle is $19 more it is stainless steel with a clad bottom, comes with welded fittings, and a ball valve, and a thermo port:

You can get a thermo from Bargain Fittings for $26, and a sight guage for the same price as well.

Looks like some of the fittings the guy uses are brass too, so again, for the $220 price it just dosn't seem to be all that great, IMO.

If you don't need the thermo or sightglass a 15 gallon SS Penrose Kettle is $189 shipped. Mine should arrive today on UPS.

Good suggestions. I'll probably steer in the direction you're talking. Thanks
