Yea can't wait till it's done. I feel the laundry list of parts is never ending. What burners are you using and how are u controlling them? I'm trying to automate at least flame control and pumps.

Im using 32 jet, jet burners, that is 320,000 BTU's a burner, I think I could have tuned that down to 24 jets but too late for that, they are controlled by an on/off valve and a needle valve to adjust, I can get thru one batch with a 7 gallon propane tank in a water bath to stop freezing and keep the flow going. (I have a 5 gallon for backup in case I run out).
I see you are using a HERMS so automation on flame would work good for you, I wanted to automate flame but it was too expensive and im running a RIMS.
Also just had my mash tun sent out to get a heat resistant wrap made for it, found out that brewing in the winter with cold grain and cold stainless makes for a long brew day, but again your HERMS will change that for you.

It a been a while since I posted some updates. Work has been insane just got some stuff in from brewers hardware. Pretty excited to do a double brew day today Belgian tripel and dubbel. More progress to come.

Got a lot done today in the brew house. Burners mounted, pumps mounted on custom shelf under mash tun. Almost there need to paint, mount the plate chiller I ordered from duda diesel and clean everything real good.

Well I'm almost done. Just ordered the rest of the tri clamp fittings, spool pieces for the pumps to come through the front panel, got the mm-2 grain mill with hopper and base just need to figure out what I need for a motor and gear reducer. Any thoughts or input would be huge at this point. Ordered a duda diesel b3-36a plate chiller which I'm stoked about. More pics to come this weekend. Cheers.

+1 on the motor, gear reducer and coupling hubs.
Check on eBay as well, I picked up my gear reducer from there for a good deal. I think my motor came from someone here and I got the same coupling hubs.
Should you need a hub for a 7/8" shaft (http://www.mcmaster.com/#6408k14/=rfssoy), let me know. I accidentally bought two when I built my motorized mill and will send it to you as I have no use for it.

Looking good, I just got my 3 55g blichmans... Getting ready to build a 1 bbl Brutus myself

Just got some stuff in form brewer hardware and duda diesel and I'm very impressed with the quality of all the products. Can't wait to put all this on the brewery on Sunday. More pics to come. Waiting on grain mill from northern brewer.

We have overshot our whirlpool temp every time. Ground water has been really cold but one pass where we didn't whirlpool took the wort from 212 to low 50's... in an instant. Crazy.

Wow that's insane. Glad I got this chiller. Thanks roadie. Cheers

I didn't think I needed one but am going to have to plumb a thermometer after the chiller to try and not over chill the wort, especially since we've been whirlpooling most batches lately. You won't regret buying that chiller for sure.

Dude, I just read your whole build in your basement. Wtf. Total stainless porn. Love it. Nice job on that little piece of paradise. Can't wait to use my stout kettles. Anything you would change about your kettles? Sorry for all the questions.

My stout tanks came with 3 dial thermometers. I don't know what to do with them. I will have bcs temp probes in the tanks. I was thinking about putting one before and after the hex. And maybe one on the city water in on the hex. Now I kinda want 4 thermometers so that I can see the in and out temp on the hex for the wort and water just for fun. Is that overkill?!

When I semi automate my rig that sounds like a good idea. I never thought about one before and after the hex. Good call. I love overkill. Haha

Thanks! My only real gripe is that the ports for the temperature probes are a little high for 5 gallon batches.

Sounds like you need to make more gallons per batch. Haha. If that's your only gripe then I think your good.

Make yourself or get an inline oxygen aerator with thermometer. Throttle the output to manage the hot flow and keep your temp in range. I have the same kettles and chiller and they work great.

Got the grain mill today. Thought it would be bigger but it will do the job. Gonna get the extension for the hopper and get a gear reducer and motor. Big day on Sunday trying to finish this bad boy up.

Built my grain mill stand today. Looks pretty awesome. Gonna use a corded drill for now until funds re appear. Def need the extension for the hopper. Cheers.

Lovely. Is that door large enough to stick a bucket in? Just curious how you're planning on retrieving the grain.

Other than that thanks to john, joe, and joe for all your hard work. Cheers.
