    Stout faucet restrictor disc

Thanks for the info. I have no idea what brand the tap I have is. There doesn't seem to be any name on it. I bought it from ontariobeerkegs.com and when i contacted them, they said its made by pacific merchants out of india which seems to be a dead end. shipping from either of those sites...

    Stout faucet restrictor disc

So I took the little disc out of my stout tap that makes it a stout tap when I needed to serve something else through it. Now it seems I have lost the disc despite putting it in a baggy and labeling it. Anyone know where I can get one that isnt too expensive? Or maybe how to make one? I found...

Well the hydrometer reads about 1.011 which is exactly where I should be so im happy. Thanks for all the info everyone. This explains a lot.

    incomplete fermentation :(

Alright im checking FG in a hydrometer now. I hate wasting that much beer each reading :( I had no idea refractometers were so far off when alcohol is present. I guess it makes sense. In which case my OG readings are also off (albeit to a lesser extent) due to other stuff in the wort besides...

    vacuum/pressure pump?

Make your own malt extract? Not sure if you would care too (no point), but mash some grain, run it into a keg and hook up the vacuum pump to the IN side. Reducing the pressure in the keg will cause the liquid to "boil" at lower temps and eventually leave you with dehydrated wort. Personally...

    incomplete fermentation :(

Iv been having trouble getting my FG down to where it should be. I just did a Vienna Lager OG was 1.061 and after about 1.5 months of primary, diacetyl, secondary in a temperature controlled mini fridge, im at 1.036. That was with a 1.5L starter. I dont know what else to do. Proper...

    Braumeister Whirlpooling/filtering

See if I were to dump trub and all into the fermenter my beer would take months to clear. Maybe I'll try gelatin and build a hop spider.

    Air conditioner coils..

AC coils freeze for one of two reasons or occasionally a bit of each. 1) Low airflow over the evap coil. This could be caused by a plugged up filter, the coil itself being plugged up with dirt, the evap fan not working or no return air for the fan to suck from. 2) Low refrigerant. There may be a...

    Braumeister Whirlpooling/filtering

Well maybe im doing something wrong that i dont know about or maybe you're just more patient than me. I usually use a whirlfloc or irish moss and cold crash but it still takes weeks in the keg to get it decently clear. maybe i should rack it off another time.

    VFD Variable frequency drives ?

Be careful what motor you connect to a VFD. Not all motors are meant for that and you can damage the motor quite quickly. Stick to motors that expect inverter fed supply. Also, don't slow motors down too far with a VFD. Realistically, your best option is to run a DC motor with is easy to...

    Building Automation

Im a commercial HVAC tech but most of my experience with automation comes from Johnson Controls DDC. I also just generally like messing with electronics and have a bit of experience with arduino. i had planned to make an arduino based automated brew rig but since i now have a braumeister, i dont...

anybody of electrical back ground plz help me

You need to explain this better. Are you trying to power one device from the switch and want the switch to control the direction it turns?

    Braumeister Whirlpooling/filtering

Im sick of all the wort im wasting every time i brew on my braumeister. I need to figure out a good way of getting more of the stuff below the outlet without pulling up all the crap at the bottom. has anyone successfully made a whirlpool for a BM? any other good ideas on seperating wort...

    External digital display for A419?

Just search digital temperature display on ebay. there are tons of them.

    External digital display for A419?

Actually I was thinking of a different controller. The a419 has the screen mounted directly on the board. But if you really wanted to you could still solder a ribbon to the pins on the board and extend it to where you want but at that point it would just be easier to buy a digital temp sensor...

    External digital display for A419?

Why wouldn't you mount the controller on the outside and just run the probe to the inside? Either way, the screen is connected via ribbon cable. You could always just buy some ribbon cable and extend it.

    Arduino and Pump Issues

What kind of 12VDC power supply are you using? Iv had similar problems with my arduino when I had it powered by the sort of power supply you would find with a laptop or a dust buster or something. Getting a good quality PC PSU provided much cleaner and stable power regardless of heavy induction...

Oxygenate Wort- what PSI how long

once it stops drawing in any oxygen. Its like force carbonating your beer. We have nice charts available that tell you what volume of CO2 you will end up with for a given pressure and temperature but I haven't been able to find the same for O2. Im going off of O2 saturation for water and...

Oxygenate Wort- what PSI how long

Its impossible to calculate how much oxygen you are putting into the wort if you aren't doing it in a sealed vessel. There is no way to know how much is actually being absorbed into solution and how much is just floating away. 12PPM of oxygen for a 20L volume is only .24 mL. Thats not very much...

    Speidel Braumeister (brewmaster)

This is correct. 3/4" NPT fits but the threads are a bit loose so a bunch of teflon tape works fine. bargainfittings.com and stainlessbrewing.com both have 3/4 x 1/2 SS bushings along with close nipples and 1/2 ball valves. everything you need to go from an (in my opinion) inferior speidel...
