Another of those "don't dump your beer" threads

So, my brother and I brewed a new recipe about 2 months ago, it was supposed to be a red. Well it most definitely was not a red then and still is not to this day. The 1/2 lb of chocolate malt (10 gallon batch) really screwed this thing up as far as color goes, dark brown, no red at all. Anyway...

Worst Brew Day Yet (aka don't brew outside when it is 15 degrees)

I just wanted to relate my experience brewing this weekend. My Brother and I brew 11 gallon batches, and split them, we have found this to be much quicker then brewing 2, 5 gallon batches the same day. As we have both just converted to kegging recently, we came to the realization that we...

    High Altitude Brewing (Color?)

I hope there are some high altitude brewers here. My brother and I have recently taken up home brewing and have had a wonderful success so far. The problem is, we brew at 8,200 ft in elevation. We have seen in these forums that hops might be a bit less efficient at this altitude, but we have...

Hello From Coal Creek Canyon CO

Hey everyone, happy to be here. I used to work in a brewpub (in the kitchen ) many years ago. At that time I did manage to get in one 8 barrel brew under my belt. However I have just started brewing at home with my brother, and it is going great!! We have 4, 5 gal batches under our...
