    Adding mint

Just wondering if somebody has made a beer with a mint taste. I was thinking of coming up with a beer with a slight mint taste. I'm assuming I would add in the secondary. Need some options. Thanks in advance.

    Fermentation time

According to my lhbs Oberon is usually done in about 16-18 days. Meaning bottle/kegged. I asked the same question and that was the answer.

    First AG Day

Thanks. What about stirring when sparging? Also should I check the temp 30 minutes after the strike water was added?

    First AG Day

I'm working on my first AG recipe. I'm aiming for a black IPA with New Zealand hops. Reason being is my lhbs is carrying the hops and is trying to turn people onto using them. Here is what my lhbs carries: Nelson Sauvin, Green Bullet, Motueka, Pacific Hallertau, Hallertau Aroma, & Pacific...

    The Dark Side

Okay, so I'm taking my first shot at an AG recipe. Basically took the malt bill from one recipe and the hops from another. Not sure if this is a good idea. I want it to kind of be my own granted based on what I did as mentioned. I just purchased my equipment for all grain prior to that I've only...

    Cheaper to buy kits

That could be the case but I would rather support my lhbs. On another note I haven't brewed my first AG batch but as mentioned buying base malts in bulk saves money. What are some of the recommended base malts that would be good to have on hand?

    New Zealand hops

I'm getting ready to make my first ag recipe. Started out thinking an IPA but now it's going to be a black IPA. My lhbs has some New Zealand hops that they are trying brewers to try. Well since I'm into experiencing a little bit. What are some of the New Zealand hops that are available? Just...

My first recipe: A Winter Warmer

If I were you don't put equal amounts of cloves as the rest of the spices, put less. I did equal of spices for a pumpkin ale and it's very cloves forward.

    Stout Brew Kettles

Just wondering if the Stout Brew Kettles are worth the money. Currently do extract but will be moving to AG. Looking for equipment that's going to last. Am I better off buying equipment that will do 10 gal batches from the start meaning 10 gallons worth or beer or buy something that results...

    Looking for commercial brewing

Well my fault, the title should have been commercial brewing equipment. Secondly I should have stated that I'm a beginning homebrewer with 5 extract kits under my belt. I'm looking to start AG in the very near future. Also I wasn't looking at starting commercial brewing or a brewpub tomorrow...

    Looking for commercial brewing

Well, I started this in the wrong forum. Didn't realize that until I couldn't find it. Looking for recommendations on commercial brewing equipment that can be used for homebrewing and then transitioned into commercial brewing. Not a large distribution but a brewpub to start. If things go...

    Equipment for Commercial Brewing

Looking for recommendations on equipment that can be used in homebrewing and eventually be used in a commercial environment. Currently homebrew with the basics, only doing extract. Will be moving to AG in the very near future. I am looking at purchasing equipment for homebrewing that can be...

    Adding to the primary fermentor

Just wondering what people have added to the primary besides hops and what was the results. Making a pumpkin ale right now and I don't think it's going to be as sweet as I was looking for. Just thought that maybe I should have added some spices and maybe a little vanilla to the primary to help...
