    no co2 at racking

Did my first all grain brew a week ago saturday. Scottish 80 shilling. Mashed high at 158(according to recipe) all went well wound up with a og of 1.045. I don't have any way to arrate(sp?) my wort so I siphoned it out of the kettle into the fermenter and let it splash. This has worked just fine...

    First time all-grain

Built my mash tun last weekend and I've been hankerin' to give it a go all week long. I've been excited about all grain ever since I first started brewing but today was my first opportunity. Scottish 80 shilling: 6 lb Maris Otter 0.5 lb. Munich Malt 0.5 lb. Honey Malt 1 lb. Crystal 120L 1...

    First time soda making

They are 8oz imperial sugar dr. pepper bottles. Pretty much the same as the Dublin dr. pepper bottles. depending on where you are they'll likely be hard to find. Airlock overflow low og

My airlock is still bubbling away! After 5 days in primary I'm still getting a bubble every six seconds! My Belgian Tripel barely bubbled that long into primary and it came out to 8.25%! I'm starting to wonder if my hydrometer isn't good. I have questioned it's accuracy once before out of the...

    Airlock overflow low og

It has gotten worse! Hey thanks for the reassurance that all is dandy. I am fermenting on the wArm side but within the parameters of what is recommended by wyeast. It is hard down here in south Texas without a dedicated fermenter fridge! Anyway, I just thought about this: would it be wise To...

    Airlock overflow low og

I made a "clone" of a local brewpubs standard ale. I missed my og because the extract recipe was 6.9lb of lme and I quote: "specialty grains" with no amount listed. So by clone I mean just an experiment in what I like. Anyway by the time my beers leave secondary I'm usually down to 4.5 gallons...

    Full volume boil.

Well the plan for brewing tonight was to do my first full volume boil. But I realized I'll be boiling all the o2 out with no Real means to get any back in the water. Is it better to boil say 3 gal or so and ad two gallons of water later? 4 and 1? Thanks for the help guys.
