    ECY Trade

I brewed an American brown ale with the vial I got from Badlee. It worked great. Overripe/mushy tropical fruit aroma, and now starting to get some mousy barnyard character. I like the different flavors it contributes, and will definitely add it to some of my sours next. Thanks Badlee! I'll try...

    Styles Well Suited to Extract?

I've had great luck with Berliner Weisse using extract. I don't use hops in mine, so there's no need to do a 90 minute boil. I boil for 10 minutes, cool, pitch lacto, and then pitch a fruity brett strain (trois/custersianus/etc) after about a week. They're drinkable in about 2 weeks, and sour as...

    ECY Trade

I'm mainly hoping to add some to my sours. I haven't been able to get my hands on any yet, so I can't speak to it's use. Thanks for the warning against the 100% IPA. I've got a Brett Trois IPA that came out pretty well, so I was thinking about doing the same some time if I can get some custersianus.

    ECY Trade

Old thread, but I've been trying to get a hold of Custersianus for a little while. I haven't been able to snag any ECY, but would you be willing to trade for some of Cascade's lacto, which I've grown up from Sang Noir dregs? It's a pretty quick-working aggressive lacto strain, which I've used to...

A Russian Imperial Stout at the Powerhouse. Great for a snowy day. Bourbon barrel aged deliciousness!

Cream Ale Cream of Three Crops (Cream Ale)

That's a great idea. Lesson learned!

    What are you drinking now?

Stone IPA is a great beer. Not too big on ranger, but it's not at all bad.

    What are you drinking now?

Young dark IPA/CDA home brew. English hops, and pretty tasty.

Cream Ale Cream of Three Crops (Cream Ale)

I usually brew early, but sometimes I'll squeeze a batch in after work when there's not much going on the next day, and I can sleep in. This is a great recipe, but the syrup was dark as f***. I thought about throwing some water in and boiling, but then figured it would come out with WAY too...

Cream Ale Cream of Three Crops (Cream Ale)

I started brewing this last night, and had my biggest brewing blunder EVER. I mashed, sparged, and started to heat my boil. I then came inside to watch TV with my wife, who apparently thought I was done. I fell asleep, and about 6 hours later, she woke me up to ask what that "bready" smell was...
