It foams, but I fill it to the top and just leave it overnight to clean the deposits. In the morning I dump, flush with clean water and don't even need to brush.

I have been using 1 part oxyclean free to 2 parts seventh generation dish washing powder. Cleans everything and leaves no mineral deposits if I forget about it for a couple days. Flush everything with fresh water. Works on glass, stainless, plastic... Everything. It's easy and cheap.

Thanks! do you have a model number by any chance? I'd love to learn more about them and compare to the other valves that are scattered on this site. What are the pros and cons to using these?

Totally agree. I called them to try and find out who makes it and what valves they use. They said they would call me back in 48 hours......I'll post as soon as I hear back.

Hey Jon, I've had a few in the past.....like not watching the kettle when it's at 211 degrees, or overfilling the HLT ;) Overall they were my fault. The recirculation stopped once after I stirred the mash...but I opened the valve a bit and it blasted out the little grain bit that got stuck...
