New Keezer - Expanded Metal - Taplister

Beaksnbeer very nice setup. Interesting way to do the gas lines too. I'm happy with how it turned out. There are a few little projects left like installing the STC-1000, taps, a few pieces of angle iron to dress it up on the corners, and better moisture control. Thanks for all the advice and...

New Keezer - Expanded Metal - Taplister

Ha! A FART is what you get when you let your friends do the initial programming. The keezer is on a standard analog temp controller but I have an STC-1000 sitting on the shelf waiting to be wired up. I forget the actual cubic ft. of the freezer but I know it is 65" long x 27" deep. I can...

New Keezer - Expanded Metal - Taplister

I rarely post, but should more often as this is a great forum. Anyways, I was in need of more beer storage and dispensing options so I built a keezer out of the biggest chest freezer I could find. It ended up being a bigger project than I expected but with the help of some friends, and lots of...

    Amber w/ Citra hops

I didn't do any dry hopping on this batch, and still get an intense fruity aroma back by a little roast. Almost like peach cobbler. I'm gonna do an IPA and that will definitely get some dry hops though. :mug:

    Amber w/ Citra hops

Just an update on the all Citra hopped amber. It has been on tap for a little over a month and it is pure peach! The peachy flavors did not come out at first, but at about week three in the keg they really popped - and that's with only 3 oz of Citra. Everybody is really enjoying this one and...

    Brewing with cilantro?

I was thinking that too. A nice light pale could work really well. I figured I'd start with the kolsch as a base since it is so light and crisp. Hehe. I like the flavor or fresh, bright green cilantro but it seems like it is one of those flavors you either love or hate. That is what my...

    Brewing with cilantro?

Thanks for all the replies. I really appreciate it. I think that we will go with the dry hopping idea and try to dunk all the cilantro in star-san, chop it up, put it in a muslin bag, and put it in the secondary. The only other idea we had was either to do an infusion with vodka in a...

    Brewing with cilantro?

I've only done a handful of beers with herbs in them, and really need your advice on this one. My wife and I LOVE cilantro and want to incorporate it into a 5 gallon, all-grain batch. I am considering adding a bunch of cilantro to a Kolsch I am brewing tomorrow. I don't think that adding...

    Amber w/ Citra hops

Very cool - thanks again. Yeah we went easy on the early hops since she is very sensitive to hop bitterness. The color is really nice and smelled great when I transferred it this evening into the secondary. It was slightly higher FG than I expected (around 1.017) but also might drop a few...

    Amber w/ Citra hops

Digging up an old thread here, but just wanted to pay homage to Wallygator. My wife wanted an all Citra hopped amber, so we plugged your recipe into BeerSmith to convert it to an all-grain recipe and came up with this: 10.00 lb Pale Malt (2 Row) US 0.50 lb Caramel/Crystal Malt - 80L 0.50...

    2010 Hops Gardens

Planted Cascade, Willamette, Nugget, and Fuggle this year. They have only been in the ground for two weeks and we'll see how they handle the heat this summer. Overall view - have not strung the twine yet. Cascade Fuggle Nugget Willamette The Fuggle and Nugget are...
