So I mixed parts from 32 kegs together...

And after cleaning everything, I now realize that I have at least 3 different kinds of kegs, and I have no idea which parts go where, or even how to figure it out. So, anyone have any good information about how I can figure this out, instead of brute force trial and error? Some things I've...

    I sunk my pellicle...

Yesterday, I checked my first sour (Duvel cultured yeast, Roeslaire, plus dregs from Rodenbach, "Green Monster", Saison Rue) that's been going for 10 months yesterday. It's amazing - I'm really pleased. That said, the reason I checked it was because I have a 32oz bottle of tart cherry juice...

    "Infected" starters

Hey all. I did a couple starters with honey, nutrient, and two different smack packs (thames valley and belgian abbey) in two erlenmeyer flasks. Well, I needed some room in my fridge and left them out on the counter for a couple days, and now they're both sporting pellicles. So, my question is...

    ECY-02 and ECY-23 slow starters?

Hey all, Sunday I made a 10g batch of morebeer's consecration clone, split it between two carboys, and pitched the two east coast yeast vials (may culturing). Well, no activity as of this morning. Thoughts? Suggestions? I may have to go get a couple packs of Rosellare tomorrow, if worse comes...

Do I actually need separate equipment for Sours?

It's a simple question. From what I've read- I don't think that it's necessary, as long as I sanitize properly. That said, I talked to Mark and Tess at my LHBS, Maltose Express, and they seemed to think otherwise. So- what's the internet think?

    Germany Beer Trip

Hey All, So I'm wondering if anyone is familiar with :http://beermba.com/germany-beer-vacations.php this site and the trips he offers? Looks somewhat legitimate, kinda expensive, but maybe worth it. Any experiences with one of these trips, anyone?

1.065 First Mead - Leave it, or add more fermentables?

Howdy folks- My first try at mead started this evening- I learned... a lot. (quick aside- it was also the first time that I used a pump... or a plate chiller... there was water everywhere in the kitchen...) In any case, I was in to the belgian IPA a bit too early, ended up adding an extra...

Help With Keezer Design - No collar, through the wall...

Well, my SWMBO told me that I had to start being able to drink the beer that I was kegging and therefore needed to build a Keezer. I, after much deliberating, bought a 14.8 Maytag MQC1552TEW, which will hold 10 ball locks on the floor, a 5# tank on the hump, and doesn't need a collar to do...

So, I want to get some pumps...

I'm sure every brewer getting pumps has this question, but where is the best place to get pumps? I'm pretty agnostic to the exact pump, the March and Chugger both seem to perform similarly, though the Chugger SS head is, well, shiny (and less likely to be stripped). I was thinking of Rebel...

    Avoiding blow off from carboy?

Howdy folks, I brewed up a strong ipa last night, put it in a glass carbouy to ferment, and pitched an appropriate started of wlp099 (og 1.108). This morning, 8 hours after pitching, there's maybe a quart of blow off. Do I just need to use a bigger fermenter, or what?

    Did my wlp099 starter start?

More generally, how do you tell if a starter has successfully grown? I did a pair if starters (my first) last week that had krausen, etc, so that was pretty obvious. I have two wlp099 (super high gravity yeast) starters from 12 hours ago, and neither have krausen, etc. The best-by date is 4...

So, <this> is what a blow-off tube is for...

Greetings all- I'm a recent addictee, but a long time day-dreamer (years... and years). Beginning of the year I brewed a batch as part of a 'learn to brew' event with some friends. 6 weeks ago, my SWMBO and I brewed up a couple batches to include in out 'xmas in July' gift bags (kits from...
